Hey girl hey!
How is it Thursday already? I can't even!
All I know is it is HOT here in Virginia & I am loving the start of summer vibes! But let me be for real....this mama is not ready for the summer schedules. Oh my how it is transition time!
Both of my boys are in camps (thank you baby Jesus!) But at the same time, I cannot believe my oldest is going into 5th grade & my youngest just graduated from Kindergarten. Time flies way too fast! (insert mom tears)
Tell me you can relate!
All the recent transitions had me thinking about the stages & the phases of recovery from an eating disorder.

The 5 "D's" are what I believe are the BIGGEST challenges you will ever face as you navigate freedom from food & that 'crazy thinking' controlling your every day.

I was lost. Exhausted. Constantly thinking about what I could eat next & when I could eat it. I was miserable. & I spent years in the same wonky cycle trying to convince myself that everything was fine & I was fine....I was far from fine.
Fast Forward to my "ah-ha"....I hated life & I craved a better way. But in the process of creating more for myself I came across these 5 biggest challenges.
The only way out girl, was through. & the same goes for you. But the good news is, if you are in the "doldrums" right now, maybe not sure where to turn to next because your mind is constantly filled with thoughts around food & your body, then today's podcast episode will speak straight to your soul.

Hey girl!

Since I receive a ton of emails with questions from listeners of the HBS podcast, I thought I'd start recording episodes from time to time to highlight specific questions you ask me directly!
I'm calling this "Coaching over Coffee" because I want you to feel as though we are chatting over a cup of amazing java (or if you are a tea queen that is cool too, I won't judge!)

Your body doesn't care HOW you think it should look, or what society says is best...your body simply cares about functioning at it's optimal state (& eventually it will do whatever it needs to do to get to that place)...what this doesn't mean is that if you begin introducing new foods or carbs you have restricted for some time that it will store these away and you will blow up like Violet in Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory.
This my friend is what I call....fake news!

I'm bringing you some Beatles on this Monday morning!

No, not the kind my 6 year old finds crawling in the backyard, the actual BEATLES!
Okay, let me explain!
We like to dance party in our house! & this morning while we were making breakfast & singing our hearts out the song, "Let It Be", by the Beatles came on.
It goes something like this...
"And when the night is cloudy, there is still a light that shines on me, shine until tomorrow, let it be."
When I sang those words I realized that I MUST do a podcast episode on the power of "letting be".

In Episode 143, I share with you my 5 question framework to ground yourself as you heal from restriction & control.
You see, letting go is inspiration & means pure & total release. But that can feel heavy when you are navigating freedom from disordered eating. Reality is, if you knew how to let go, you probably would have by now...am I right?
In my own recovery, I would surrender control only to pick it up again the next day. That is when I realized that the stepping stone to letting go is actually allowing yourself to "let be".

Hey girl hey, let's drop it like it's hot (because it's ThursYAY!)
Okay okay...I admit I'm hyped up on coffee, a yummy breakfast & passion on this incredible morning. But, mostly I blame that the topic on today's podcast is something that I just can't wait to share with you & the world, because we don't talk about it enough.
