Kids live in the moment. They embrace new things. & most young kids (well my boys atleast), let's face it -> they never let options stop them from trying to get their way!

A victim is a person who is deceived or cheated by their own emotions.
A victor is a person who defeats an enemy, opponent & conquers the very struggle set out to destroy them.
Are you a victim or a victor?
Sis, you are not the victim of your current life & circumstances. You are a product of your choices. & yes, maybe some of those choices weren't the best....but if choices got you here, choices can get you out!
In Episode 48, I share the power of CHOICE. Your choice! & I discuss 6 choices you can make right now to move you from Victim to Victor.
The truth is, you deserve to live life FREE from the chains of disordered eating. You deserve to be present with the people you love & to experience more of the places you enjoy. You see, just because you aren't their yet...is more proof that now is the very best time!
Victors see challenges as opportunities -> Victims see challenges as evidence of a hard life.
Victors look for hope -> Victims say stuck in fear.
Victors plan for the future -> Victims worry about the future, constantly revisiting the past & never fully living in the present.

Happy Thursday!
Have you ever wondered if you have OCD? Do you frequently find yourself having intrusive, repetitive thoughts that lead to compulsive behaviors? Maybe you experience ongoing anxiety associated with obsessions?
When most people think about eating disorders they focus primarily on food restriction, over-consumption or unhealthy patterns, such as, binging, purging, over-exercising, etc., but is there a relationship between obsessive-compulsive disorder & disordered eating?
Researchers & clinicians believe there is much overlap between ED & OCD. In fact, according to the international OCD foundation, 64% of individuals diagnosed with eating disorders also have at least one anxiety disorder, & roughly 41% have OCD.
Both OCD & ED are tied back to one word: control!
But just because you exercise excessively or you restrict your food intake, doesn't mean you also have OCD.
In today's episode I share research with you & some of the similarities & distinctions between obsessive-compulsive disorder & eating disorders.
And while I WILL NOT proclaim to have any clinical background, what I do share is all available out there on the google & also represents my personal experience with exploration in understanding & educating myself on OCD & the relationship with my own past struggle with anorexia.

In fact, facing the difficulty head on & embracing the suck of it all, is exactly the path forward to true & lasting freedom.
In today's episode, I talk with you about familiar excuses that you may be telling yourself that are leaving you in a pit of shame & stuckness. I share with you how simply reframing them can help you shape your future in the best direction possible.
You see, the quality of your life (& freedom from disordered eating), is a result of the quality of your decisions (or lack of decisions).

Hey love!
I'm honored to have your listen of today's episode on the Her Best Self podcast.
Typically, I feel a prompting as I'm about to sit down & record the show to prep a certain topic & I dive right in to my zone of genius to show up for you & provide you with all the BEST content. Yet, today when I sat down it felt different. I felt completely called to serve someone today. I felt called to lean in & whisper to YOU. I felt prompted to share straight to your heart from mine, that recovery from food controlling your life is POSSIBLE.
&, I felt committed to providing you with hope, love, encouragement, & inspiration for when you just aren't "feeling" it. Because life & freedom from an eating disorder isn't linear. You will have days where you are on top of the world & days where you don't want to get dressed.
But listen in girl...
You did NOT come this far, to only come this far.
You did NOT walk this path for this long, to walk away without victory.
You did NOT find my show by coincidence. Don't you see? It's all part of the plan.
It's all part of your story.
You are here for a purpose & a reason. You were called to live a BOLD life. A BIG life. A life not revolved around shrinking your body to make you feel valued.
Your very BEST & true self doesn't need to be controlled, manipulated, maintained or micromanaged.
You see, the biggest lie I ever believed was a smaller me was a better me. It was indeed a "different" me. But it didn't make me happier.

Hey girl!
How was your weekend?
Mine was WAYYY too short! I spent some of it chasing my 5 year old on training wheels & some of it watching my 9 year old train for the minor leagues. Did I mention, I also managed to save a baby deer? Yep. I literally ran across a busy highway holding a wild animal, screaming at the top of my lungs. I apologize in advance if you were a bystander!
Oh, how I love that summer is almost here! But, one major highlight of my weekend was spending some quality time on the mic recording today's episode just for you.
