On a mission to lose 10 pounds, I found myself chained to a never ending cycle of disordered eating. I wore shame of never feeling good enough & used my control over food & my body as my personal secret weapon. I lived the lie of believing that a smaller me was a better me. Until one day, I just couldn't do it anymore. 
That's when I surrendered. & God lifted me up out the pit of my utter despair. 
I called out, “If you’re there and you care, I need you to save me from me…and I need to know that you care.”
That desperate cry changed everything for me.

I hope you had a fantastic weekend sis!
Between baseball & fall festivities it was FUN, fast & exhausting all in one. Sprinkle that with pumpkin spice & everything nice..... y'all we had a "winning" weekend!
I was also able to spend some time reflecting on my life, my journey, how far I've come from where I once was. I was able to reflect on the true freedom I currently have......freedom from the chains of my past self & eating disorder & the exact tools I used to get myself out of that dark pit.

Hey Girl!
How is your week treating you? Gosh, I just can't believe we are basically in fall y'all!
Anyways, enough about the weather....today I am talking about "weight gain"!
Yep, I said it.....the most terrifying thing of all the things when you are in recovery from disordered eating.
Do you find yourself terrified to gain weight? You know that in order to get "stronger" or "healthier" you will indeed need to put on some LBs, but the mere thought fuels you with debilitating anxiety?
Gosh, do I get it!
The scariest thing for me during my recovery from anorexia was gaining weight.
I cared so very much what others thought of me....& I was terrified that I may not like myself if I gained weight & actually had a normal life.

Hey Girl,

In my experience, t's so very important to show love, kindness & provide an "open door" if you are in the midst of helping navigate support for someone who is dealing with this dreadful disease.
I share with you nuggets of gold in this one! I also discuss how these 7 different ways in helping support someone with disordered eating can actually allow the person in need to step forward & ultimately get the accountability that is imperative to recover.

Hey their sister ~
Do you struggle with daily anxiety? Are you constantly anxious when it comes to what you can eat next or when you can eat it, & you find yourself in borderline panic mode if you are forced out of your workout routine or daily food rituals?
Maybe, the mere idea of living life without nagging food thoughts seems entirely impossible to you? So impossible, that you have basically given up on the fact that you could ever be completely free from disordered eating & the anxiety you experience often.
If you are like many of the women I coach, then you know exactly what it is like to feel crippled by fear & anxiety ruling your life. You know exactly what it's like to be terrified of going out to eat with others, unsure of what you can order on the menu, only to be plagued by guilt & shame after leaving the restaurant.
Girl, there were SO MANY times I made up excuses to avoid social gatherings because my anxiety around food & friends/family was just to much for me to face. I desperately wanted a way out. I wanted so badly to be "normal". 
In today's episode, I share with you statistics, research & my own knowledge & personal experience with anxiety & disordered eating. I talk about what you can look out for if you have heightened anxiety & how it can co-exist with an eating disorder. I also discuss 3 things that you can start doing today to help minimize & provide more support for your journey.

It's September 4th! How did we get here?!
Gosh the year is just flying, isn't it?
Lately, I've been asked by women battling an unhealthy relationship with food & their body if recovery was worth it. Am I truly happy now? And I've seen so many women make the mistake of believing the lies. The lies that they will be miserable once they gain weight or that once they commit to putting their health first, they just won't like who they are.
Many women I work with 1:1, actually come to me feeling like they are stuck in this never-ending cycle of an eating disorder & they just aren't sure they will ever escape from it. I feel that on so many levels. & I have sat with all of those same thoughts & beliefs.
But I Recovered. & sis, so can you!
Today's episode is a special one, because I wanted to share with you 8 reasons why my battle with anorexia was the BEST thing that happened FOR me in my life, in hopes it gives you some assurance & peace.
Sister, sometimes the BEST thing & the WORST thing, can be the SAME thing!
My eating disorder was the BEST, WORST thing that I have experienced, & I am truly grateful for the process of recovery.
Robert Adams says, "There is only one decision you need to make: you are either working at your freedom or you are accepting your bondage."
Stop staying chained where you are sweet friend! There is so much more to this thing called life.
